At an elevation of 1,581, very little snow falls during the winter in White Bird, Idaho. When snowflakes do appear, they don’t last long. Store your trailer at Swiftwater RV Park during the Winter!
Why should you care? If you own an RV and live in an area like Moscow, McCall, Cascade or Donnelly, Idaho, storing that RV at Swiftwater during the winter makes a lot of sense! Our Winter Storage program is affordable and gives you a reason to visit your trailer and get the heck out of the snow!
Winter Storage program explained: Winterize your trailer. Store it from November 2013 through March 2014 for a flat fee of $200. Overnight stays are $15/night + tax for 2 people.
When staying overnight, be sure to bring those binoculars, or keep a spare pair in the trailer you store at Swiftwater. We are situated on the Salmon River with a clear view of the river and the hills surrounding the Park. Turn on the heater in your trailer, bundle up and sit outside on our boardwalk winter lawn to catch glimpses of salmon, deer, even an elk or two, eagles, otters, geese, ducks and other wildlife. Swiftwater is a great winter-escape and normally a snow-free destination. Visit your trailer and stay a night or two!
Even though the weather outside can be brisk, the skies overhead can be crystal clear and a brilliant blue. Perfect for warm & cozy scenic drives. The easy 17 mile drive into Hells Canyon National Recreation Area is a good idea, or zipping north up the old White Bird Grade to enjoy the spectacular vistas and possibly catch glimpses of elk, deer and other wildlife.
Remember that the quaint town of White Bird Idaho is just two miles from Swiftwater and is nestled along White Bird Creek. Heck, you can even walk there and back. You’ll work up a healthy appetite and luckily there is an excellent restaurant in town – Mac’s Supper Club – which offers a good alternative to cooking dinner in your trailer. Hoots Cafe on Hwy 95 is another good restaurant and Hootie cooks a fabulous breakfast. The Silver Dollar Bar has a well-attended winter Cribbage tournament every Saturday afternoon, starting at 1 pm, and always welcomes newcomers
