The remarkable roads and trails around Swiftwater RV Park in White Bird, ID offer great ATV rides and the chance to enjoy spectacular views, vistas and wildlife.
HELLS CANYON – Pittsburg Landing – One of the most traditional and scenic rides from our campground is this ride. You’ll travel on the well-maintained gravel road – Deer Creek Road (FS 493) – into to Pittsburg Landing (a major boat ramp for jet boats and rafts to launch/end river trips on the Snake River in Hells Canyon). After climbing more than 3,000 feet to a high saddle with magnificent views, the road then descends even more into Hells Canyon, a National Recreation area and the deepest gorge in North America. A street-legal license is required on OHV/ATVs. Enjoy this video about the ride into Pittsburg Landing!
Memorial Day 2015 – This year, there is not one of those big, organized rides where nearly 100 people ride at the same time. We did an online survey asking past guests their preferences, and learned the majority of riders equally enjoy self-directed rides where they can leave when they want, chose their own trips and return as they please.
